Transport Layout and Fastening Design
Criterion for requirement

The communication of specific actions that are required to insure that an item will be secured and transported on a given vehicle to an agreed standard.

Description

This is a family of AutoCAD drawings incorporating the items to be transported into a plan and or elevation view of the transportation vessel or vehicle. These drawings must detail design, material and location of each fastening to be used. The plan view of the transport vehicle must show relevant dimensions for locating items to be shipped. These drawings must show relevant dimensions for locating, constructing and attaching each fastening with respect to the transport vehicle as well as the items to be secured.

Inputs

• AutoCAD drawings, plan and elevation, or overall dimensions of each item to be fastened and shipped. Must include description of footing to establish acceptable load spreading
  
• AutoCAD drawing of vessel or vehicle or design dimensions of vessel or vehicle
  
• Description of preferred fastening material that may be available
  
• Centers of gravity, vertical and horizontal, of each item to be secured
  
• Gross weight of each item
  
• Location of any recommended fastening points on the items to be secured
  
• Location of all available fastening points on the vehicle to be used for transport
